{Blog Question of the Week} - prize to be won!

Come play with us! Here's your first chance to win a prize just for visiting the BC Crop for Kids blog. The rules are pretty simple...we'll ask a scrapbook related question, and you'll post your reply in the comments. If 20 or more people respond, we'll put all the participants names in a hat and draw for a fun prize!

Here is the question:

What was the most memorable scrapbooking event or retreat you've attended, and WHY?

Here is the prize:

2 packages of Queen & Co. Felt Fusion, self adhesive die cut felt borders (1 yard each)

Sponsoring this challenge is The Memory Workshop, the on-site store for this year's BC Crop for Kids event. The Memory Workshop is a mobile store that specializes in retreats and crops, and also offers one of Canada's most popular monthly kit clubs.

Remember, we need at least 20 participants for this challenge, so spread the word! One entry per person please. Entries will be accepted up until 7:00pm Pacific Time, Thursday March 27, 2008. The winner will be posted on or before March 28. Thanks for playing and good luck!

The BC Crop for Kids team plans to bring you more challenges on the blog between now and September. Stay tuned!

I went to a Pick of the Patch Retreat last year and had a great time! It was so much fun wearing our Pj's and being a little crazy!

CKU Vancouver and any of my Bellevue CK convention, I had a blast.

My most memorable retreat was the first retreat I co-coordinated and just my second retreat ever! We took a great group of ladies out of town and rented a series of cabins. It was rustic, and we had some struggles, but we still talk about that retreat fondly.

I have to admit, though, that every retreat I attend, or coordinate, just gets better and better!!!! I get better at planning and packing and I have the BEST group of ladies to scrap with!!!

In fact, I'm looking forward to my NEXT retreat coming up in just a few weeks!!!

Happy Scrapping, Everyone!

My pick was the same as Lois' pick. The POTP retreat last yr was my first overnight stay at a retreat. I'd been to many all day crops and had visited the previous yr's POTP retreat but only for the day. It was a blast to wear our jammies and stay up late scrapping even though I didn't really get anything done LOL! Just lots of laughter and chatting!

My first ever retreat back in the 90's at Loon Lake! I learned so much and it was the launching point into the addiction I have for scrapbooking!

My most memorable retreat would have to have been the first ScrapFest we put on. It was just the right size and the first of it's kind for the Alberta area. The idea of choice is really nice you can either pack you weekend with classes, crop away, or a little of both. I loved that the last crop for kids did the same kind of thing. I wasn't able to commit to the whole weekend but was still able to participate part days. Oh and I really liked the photography class by Rachel!

I have to add in the Pick of the Patch retreat as well. I went both years and had a ton of fun with fabulous girls hanging out in our jammies.

I love the Loon Lake retreats. The size is great, the food rocks and I usually get lots done -- its great to be so close yet feel so far!

My most memorable event was CK Convention in Seattle. It was the first time I ever went to a major scrapbooking event. I went with a good friend and it was amazing to spend some time away from home and meet so many great people and to see and learn lots of new techniques and product.

I'm not eligible to win, and I've been to too many retreats to possibly have a favourite, but I've got memorable moments from all of them!

Like the first time we went to the Ultimate Retreat at Loon Lake in Maple Ridge...we almost got snowed in! It was beautiful! And a bit hairy trying to pack up during a power outage and get out of the woods...

And in 2006 at Harrison with ScrappingAway.com when we were celebrating my friend Donna's birthday and I told everyone it was her 39th, and she was really only 35. And she's going to kill me AGAIN for bringing it up... ;)

The most memorable event for me in 2007 was CKU Nashville. It had been a difficult year for me as I broke 2 bones in my back and had to have surgery. The first thing I said following the surgery was that I wanted to reward myself and register for CKU Nashville. My favorite part of the event was the all day album track with Ali Edwards - A week in a Life. Even if it took me over a month to get all the pictures taken.
Attending the event was a real turning point for me and has allowed me to travel from North Carolina to BC to visit and scrap with friends there.

My most memorable srapping event was my first "SCRAP_A_THON". The sight of 140 women all doing the same activity but each working on their own ideas was amazing.
Even more amazing was the amount f supplies some of these women brought. I learnt one very important thing from them. PREORGANIZE to limit my needed supplies

It's hard to pick my most memorable because I've had such a great time at all the scrapbooking events I've attended, but I guess if I have to pick just one it would be the first Camp Crop held at Timberline Ranch in Maple Ridge - hammers named Earl and a slimy green pool - gotta love it!

My most memorable one was a crop that was done by a store in Abbotsford that no longer exists. Kreative Treasures back in 2001. I had so much fun. I have never been to a retreat and this one will be my first.

Hugs,
Trish

My most memorable retreat was a scrappingaway retreat in Whistler in November 2007. Our hotel basement got flooded with sewer from the entire town. It was a disaster for many people and the retreat cropping room had to be moved to another hotel. It was definitely an adventure for my first scrapbooking get away!

For sure, csck Vancouver was the best!!! I had so much fun, took great classes, met great people, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I think everything was reasonably priced and there was lots of variety. Well done.

my most memorable scrapbooking retreat was last years Precious Memories Retreat ('07) in Langley - the Hollywood theme was fun, there were prizes for everyone and we were all made to feel like "stars"! I learned alot from the other ladies about planning ahead and being realistic about what one can get done during a retreat like this. I especially loved how the women were so willing to share their pages and techniques and hints.

Well that's easy! It was last years Crop for Kids! This was the first time that I had EVER left my husband and kids for a girls weekend. It was wonderful and I sure hope that I'm lucky enough to get a ticket again this Sunday.
